An Almost Total Lunar Eclipse - Nov 18-19
Call me a Moon Man
Call me a night owl
Call me a man on the prowl
Tonight, I might howl...
(bundle up, stay up, if you dare :)
The longest partial lunar eclipse in almost 600 years!
And this lunar eclipse will truly be "almost total," as 99.1 pct. of the moon's disk will be within the darkest part of Earth's shadow, called the umbra.
NASA video also includes night sky info for all of Nov. - Jupiter and Saturn are getting closer to Venus
Best viewing at peak of the eclipse:
9:03 UTC / 4:03AM EDT / 1:03AM PD
